David Ferré A pianist since the age of 10, David was pianist for the Naval Training Command Choir (1967-1968), associate organist for the Genesee Baptist Church, Rochester, NY (1970-1972), and later, biographer for the Polish pianist and composer, André Tchaikowsky (1985-1992). After moving to Seattle in 1987, he was cofounder, with composer Dr. Gregory Short, of the Contemporary Artists Support Association (CASA), organizing concerts for northwest composers (1988-1994). David was stage manager for both the Seattle Pro Musica (1995-2001) and Choral Arts Northwest (1999-2001), and a tour guide for the Benaroya Concert Hall, Seattle, WA (1998-2000). David enjoys local and international classical musical events, most recently attending a series of Andrzej Czajkowski concerts in Poland (2008), acting as Stage Manager for the Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, Palm Desert, CA (2009), and a member of the Press Corp for the 16th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland (2010) where he maintained the http://chopin2010blog.com website. |
